A MEMORIAL TO OUR FELLOW CAPE COD SKI CLUB MEMBERS ... past and present ❄️

Recent memorials will be shown below. Read more about many of our friends and obituaries here.

Helen Morin passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 93. She is survived by her six children – Theodore, Peter, Thomas, John, Andrew and Elizabeth – and eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and her sister, Mary (Jane) O’Leary, and a brother, Paul Henry Pratt. Helen and her husband, Ted, lived longest in West Dennis, where they were active members of the West Dennis Yacht Club, sponsoring the Club’s annual banquet. Helen volunteered at the Melody Tent and had many bridge and book groups. They were rich in friends and enjoyed fine dining, travel, their kids, and each other.

John "Jack" Keizer, age 99, died peacefully in his home at Heatherwood on October 22, 2025. Born in 1926, Jack grew up in South Walpole, MA and served in the U S Navy during World War II. After the war he married his childhood sweetheart, Evelyn Small. In 1958 Jack & Evelyn relocated to Clarksburg, MA, where they raised two sons. After Jack retired from the Mass. Dept. of Correction, Jack & Evelyn moved to Cape Cod, living in Marstons Mills. As a member of Cape Cod Ski Club, Jack enjoyed many ski trips and kayak adventures.

Clem Smith, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. Clem/Vaughn was an avid runner, skier (Club member for many years) and sailor who stayed very active well into his late 80s. He owned several sailboats over the years and was particularly proud of the 20-ft Luger he successfully built. He cruised extensively with Franny and other family members in Cape Cod Bay and to many ports-of-call including Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Cuttyhunk, and Block Island. Oftentimes, some of their children joined them as well.

Robert Alan “Al” Sloan, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Al was often referred to as “PerpetuAL” by his sons for his constant desire to be active. He enjoyed walking the dog with Janice, skiing with grandchildren, golfing with friends, planning his next big vacation, and meticulously detailing his Porsche. Al also meticulously looked after his family. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend and fellow Ski Club member, Janice Rosamond Sloan. More than anything, Al liked to spend time with family and friends - all who knew him are encouraged to take great care of those they love and always make time to enjoy a good laugh. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
