Bus trips made simple

Please read the following information about the Club's bus trips. Although most of the information applies to day trips, many aspects apply to overnight trips as well.

Please note that the Club has changed bus services for the 2007-08 winter. After many years with P&B, the Club has contracted with Tremblay's of New Bedford. They are the exclusive bus service for the Club's ski trips. DO NOT board a P&B Bus if you want a day on the slopes!

Look for the distinctive logo on the Tremblay's bus (picture on right)!

How do I sign up for a trip?

  • Decide which trips you are going to go on.
  • Print the trip reservation form (make copies as needed).
  • Fill out ALL the information on the form, including the emergency information (someone not on the trip).
  • Send a check or money order payable to the Cape Cod Ski Club to the trip leader for $28 for each bus rider.
  • If using a club voucher, send it with the trip reservation.
  • You'll be called ONLY if you are on the wait list. Otherwise, assume that you are going on the trip.

Don't forget!

  • Send your trip reservation form and $30 check to the trip leader at least 10 days before trip. Price is $40 if envelope is postmarked less than 10 days before trip.
  • Bring your $28 check for lift ticket on the bus.

Where's the bus?

Stow skis, boards and anything you won't need on the ride under the bus. Store boots under your seat. You may want to bring lunch/beverages inside the bus. The Harwich pick-up is at the Exit 10/route 124 commuter lot; the Barnstable pick-up is at the Exit 6/route 132 commuter lot and the Sagamore pick-up is at the commuter lot. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before departure times.

What time?

  • Harwich, 4:30 a.m.
  • Barnstable, 5:00 a.m.
  • Sagamore, 5:15 a.m.

A few bus rules

  • No smoking on the bus.
  • Use headphones with your Walkman or DVD player.
  • Be courteous at this early hour. Some folks are still asleep!
  • Upon arrival at the mountain, stay on the bus until the trip leader returns with lift tickets; you will receive your ticket as you leave the bus.

Don't forget!

  • Complimentary donuts and muffins are provided on the bus.
  • Bring your own beverage.

A few moutain rules

  • Make a new acquaintance on the bus and make a few runs or your first lift ride with them.
  • Arrange to have lunch with club members.
  • Skiing and riding with a group is fun, invigorating and safer!

Don't forget!

  • Have fun!
  • Don't get frostbite.

Where's the return bus?

  • The bus leaves the mountain promptly at 4:30 p.m.
  • Bus driver will tell you where he will park.
  • Stow your equipment in the correct bay (depending on your pick-up location) under the bus. Ask the driver if unsure.
  • Please take your same seat on the bus for the ride home.
  • A quick dinner stop will be made on the way home.
  • If you plan on indulging in adult beverages on the trip home, bring them with you.
  • Abuse of adult beverages or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated; appropriate action will be taken by the Board.

What time?

  • 4:30 p.m. bus leaves the mountain
  • 6:00 p.m., approximate time for dinner stop (time varies based on available facilities)

What happens if I cancel?

If you cancel your day trip reservation at least one week (that's 7 days, folks) prior to the date of the trip, you will get a full refund (your check will be torn in half; money orders, cash and vouchers will be returned). Cancellation on day trips less than 7 days before departure results in forfeiture of bus deposit if your seat can't be filled from the trip leader's waiting list.

Overnight trip cancellation

Overnight trips have varying dates for cancellation and monetary penalties; ask the trip leader for specifics.

What's different about weekend and weeklong trips?

  • For trips with bus transportation, departure locations are the same, departure times vary.
  • If it's a car pool trip, arrange through trip leader to drive or ride with someone.
  • Other than obvious personal packing needs, not much is different from a great day trip.
